Seattle Public Schools unveiled its proposal to bring back some students as early as March 1. It also includes a phased-in approach that aims to get even more kids in classrooms just days later.

The district is working with the Seattle Education Association to make the proposals come together. As of Friday, the SEA says it has yet to see the plan, which it still has to review.

The association could still make changes as early as next week.

Seattle Public Schools says the district hopes to have some special education students back to in-person learning by March 1, followed by preschool, Kindergarten and first grade students a week later.

Each school is also set to have a building safety team review and discuss any staff concerns.

The students will be split up into two groups, dividing up the time they spend doing remote learning and actual classroom learning. Class sizes will also be limited to 15 students. The district says that will reduce how many kids will be in any building at any given time.

Students will have assigned seating to allow for physical distancing.

The district will also provide the necessary PPE and any parent wanting to visit will have to make an appointment.

The plan outlines that any teacher or educator who is at high-risk for COVID-19 may have accommodations made for their safety.
