Liège is again “making room for artists”. This is the name of this operation, which opens in four sites every Saturday. The goal is to make those little known artists to be discovered by public. For example, the Liège group La Valise, which performed on the Esplanade des Guillemins.
Four places, four time slots, every Saturday during the summer, Liège is therefore making way for artists. And for them, it was important to find the audience, even with shared feelings.
"It's super important. We spent three confused months. That’s not easy. We are allowed tov perform in the heart of our city. It’s joyful." said Marie Zinnen, from La Valise. "There are people in the audience who are masked, we can't really sound us out completely normal so it's a little balm at the heart that really makes you happy, but it's not real life", adds his partner Fanny Vadja.
The public was not presented in groups but rather dispersed, around small tables and chairs, a convivial space for reunion. "We saw violin and accordion so we came to see and listen, and I do not regret at all," said an audience. "It's essential to find artists alive. Music is alive. I clearly missed that during the quarantine," said another. "It was good to bring artists into the public space. There are people who pass by wondering a little what it is and who discover styles that they might not have been listening to. I missed it a lot "adds the third audience.
All these shows are free until August 29, at the Esplanade des Guillemins, Parc d'Avroy kiosk, Place du XX-Août and Place de l'Yser.
