Place Plovdiv continues the campaign to reduce waste during festivals

Visitors to the Plovdiv BeerFest festival, which will take place this weekend on the meadow of Mladezhki Hill, will enjoy free drinks against separately collected waste. The event is part of the Junk Around campaign, part of the long-term program Place Bulgaria, with which the association BG Be Active is trying to engage citizens to keep the urban environment clean and beautiful.
In addition to the campaign "Who keeps clean, drinks beer!", During the festival will be a large-scale information campaign on reducing waste that remains after major events and engaged citizens long-term with the theme of less waste in everyday life.
Activists from Myast Plovdiv, an initiative of the BG Be Active Association, will assist in placing containers for separate collection and a special info point of the festival, where volunteers will help guests dispose of plastic, glass and paper packaging separately and will explain to visitors. "I expect a lot of people to get involved in waste collection during the festival to draw inspiration and be ready for small changes in their daily lives to help us leave the lawn cleaner after the festival," said Stefan Goranov, organizer. of Plovdiv BeerFest.
"We want to inspire people to be creative, active and responsible for the place where they have fun. The message about the need to recycle food and beverage packaging has already reached thousands of visitors to the events in Plovdiv, during the events of 2019, thanks to the platform "Me, You, Plovdiv", which we initiated last year. We worked with the organizers of the Beer Fest last year. Now we continue to spread together the cause of events #Wasteless. we are glad to see sustainability in the actions of the organizers, "said Rumyana Kirizieva, from BG Be Active.
The organizers invite the visitors of the festival to join the initiative and to collect and dispose of their waste separately during the event at the point of Place Plovdiv, so that together they can keep the meadow of Youth Hill clean.
