Bulgaria's health ministry said that it will receive on Wednesday 20 ambulances from car dealer Sofia France Auto, which will be distributed to medical centres in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna.
The delivery is part of a larger contract funded by the EU-backed operational programme Regions in Growth, the ministry said in a statement.
Last year, Bulgaria signed a 38.3 million levs ($22.9 million/19.6 million euro) deal with Sofia France Auto for the purchase of 280 ambulances.
The contract was signed as part of a 163.9 million levs EU-funded project for upgrading the country's emergency healthcare services, including the purchase of 400 ambulances.
