The Liège police zone indicated, late Sunday afternoon, that it drew up on average of 35 law violation cases relating to covid-19 this Friday and Saturday. This is only a provisional assessment because all the reports have not yet been entered into the database. After a first phase of awareness-raising and informing, the Liège police stressed, before the weekend, that the controls and repression would intensify.

In the La Batte Area and the pedestrian area

The police sent notices to individuals for not wearing a mask in an obligatory zone such as La Batte or the pedestrian area and to catering businesses for non-compliance with closing times or non-compliance with anti-covid measures.

"One of these establishments is reported to the Mayor, who will decide on a possible imposed closure", added the spokesperson for the police zone, who specifies: "In the vast majority , the people of Liege have respected the rules in terms of covid, despite very hot summer weather. There has been no significant increase (of covid cases) since the last measures linked to the latest ministerial decree issued".
